The Social Conflict Analysis Database (SCAD) is a resource for analyzing protests, riots, strikes, inter-communal conflict, government violence against civilians, and other social conflict events. The data contain information on factors such as actors, targets, the use of violence, fatalities, locations, issues, and event magnitude. Currently, SCAD covers the entire African continent, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean from 1990 to the present. SCAD was created by Cullen Hendrix at the University of Denver and Idean Salehyan at the University of North Texas. The full data and codebook are available here.
